IMPORTANT: HyperQueue lists will load into Waldo 4.0+ but need to be converted with Waldo Tool "Update Queue" befoer being used. Find lists and Title Lists from earlier versions of Waldo will not work with version 4.0+!
To run Waldo you must change the application size to 2000. Consult your Macintosh manual for specific information on changing the size of programs.
Make sure no HyperCard stack are open, including the home stack, click once to highlight the "program" HyperCard. Select get info from the File menu. At the bottom of the information window two lines read; Suggested size, Current size. Click in the current size window and enter 2000. (Do not enter commas!) Click the close box.
Double click on the Waldo Compact Pro icon.
A dialog box will appear:
select a folder on your hard drive to place the Waldo Files folder.
Click the Extract button. Open the WaldoStuff folder...
Double click on the HyperCard Stack called Waldo 4.0 Click on the button called Import. Load the file called WaldoDocs (WaldoDocs is in folder "WaldoDocs-F") this is the documentation for Waldo in Waldo format.
Title and Queue lists may now be appended to the end of a Waldo document and automacially loaded with the document. The Waldo documentation you will load into Waldo has a HyperQueue list and a Title list at the end of the document and are laoded when you load the documentation.
Use the Find List Utility button inside of the Find Button Dialog to Load the document "WaldoDocs.sl" (in folder "Supplementary Docs files " in folder "WaldoDocs-F") into the Find List
All people should read the documentation (WaldoDocs) from within Waldo after loading WaldoDocs into Waldo. The documentation is complete and precise and you may not need to read it completely but loading it and reading it is a tutorial for Waldo. By examining WaldoDocs with a wordprocessor you will see the advantage of reading with Waldo over a wordprocessor as well as seeing how to structure a Waldo document. (If your wordprocessor allows it enable the function that shows space and return characters--highly recommended!)
You may want to disable HyperText Functions in the Waldo menu and concentrate on the basic navigational buttons and then explore the HyperText Functions.
Read through WaldoDocs. Hold down the shift key and the command key at the same time as the key with the question mark (?). Hold down all 3 keys till a Waldo help screen appears. (The stack WaldoHelp, which is included with Waldo must be at the same "level" as your copy of Waldo to load properly--if it is not then a dialogue box will appear asking for the file location).

292,000 (archive) + 852,000 (extracted) = 1,144,000 total disk space
The size of Waldo without all of the documentation and Help Stacks is 362,000.
NOTE: Discard any any version of Waldo "earlier" than 4.0.1
NOTE: HyperQueue lists created with versions of Waldo earlier than 4.0 will
